Unparalleled star-spotter that’s lots of fun

Just a few weeks after Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on the New York City area, Harvey Weinstein and some other big hitters rushed together a star-studded, streaming concert at Madison Square Garden that raised $50 million plus for relief efforts. Among the too-numerous-to-mention, mostly classic rockers joining Sir Paul were The Boss, The Stones, Eric, Alicia, Billy and The Who (and Kanye), while backstage, every celebrity you ever knew manned the donation phones.

As a concert movie, it’s only passable, as each group does just one song, but it’s brilliantly edited, lots of fun and an unparalleled star-spotter. Japanese title: 12-12-12 New York, Kiseki no Live. (106 min)
