Tom Hanks as symbologist Robert Langdon.

Tom Hanks as symbologist Robert Langdon.

Well, it’s not as if The Da Vinci Code didn’t serve as a warning to thinking moviegoers. Dan Brown’s next poorly written mess of metaphysical mayhem ups the hooey level considerably, with “symbologist” Robert Langdon (I am sooo disappointed in Tom Hanks) using his impossibly encyclopedic knowledge to chase down a serial kidnapper/killer of cardinals, while an antimatter bomb ticks away in the Vatican basement. How dumb do they think we are? Profitably so, apparently. Looks great, but that just takes money. It’s repetitive and boring, with howlingly bad dialogue. Vote with your wallet and skip it.
