After the death of her husband, Taro Okamoto’s wife believed it was her job to spread the knowledge of his work onto the next generation, setting about without any delay. She founded the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum and the Taro Award, setting up an incorporated foundation to which she devoted the rest of her life in order to cement his legacy. Over the last couple of decades what was a small event has developed into a widely recognized, major contemporary art award with a total of 410 artists being selected for the accolade. Now in its twentieth-year, there will be a special exhibition to celebrate the Taro Award, which features “20 enfants terribles”. All unique artists, these twenty individuals’ work grouped together has a massive chaotic impact. Don’t miss this prolific and unparalleled compilation of art.
