Wols (Alfred Otto Wolfgang Schulze, 1913-1951) was a painter and photographer. He started painting in watercolors and pursued drawings as well. When war broke out between Germany and France, he was captured in French prison, where he spent his time in working on watercolors and drawing.
Soon after his death, his work gained more attention. Wol’s art was first introduced in Japan from 1956. Starting from April 1st, Wol’s art work will be featured at Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art.
