Tetsuro Shimaguchi has an extensive background in swordsmanship, but even a decade later he’s still most likely remembered for his part as Miki of the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill Vol. 1 (Remember him versus Beatrix?). His most important work was off-camera, though, choreographing scenes such as the unforgettable duel in the garden of snow between Beatrix and O-Ren Ishii, leader of the Tokyo underground. Now, after several world tours, Shimaguchi returns with his team of master sword artists, Kamui, for some performances in their homeland. The group combines traditional swordplay with modern arts and music. The blade masters take to the stage to show off their precision fighting, accompanied by well-known artists, musicians, kabuki actors and more.

Jun 17-21, Asakusa Rock Yumemachi Restaurant Theater. See stage listings for details.
