The Kill Your T.V. 09 compilation CD, released in April, provided a pretty decent summary of the current state of Japanese indie rock. If you missed the accompanying national tour, don’t fret: many of the bands featured on the album will be appearing during a one-day takeover of three key Shibuya live venues. “Kill Your T.V. 09 Now!” features the likes of ass-kicking girl band Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, angular rockers Lostage and Shibaraku-Yoshino, better known as the alias of Osaka spazz-punks Midori. Topping the bill is Brother’s Sister’s Daughter, an eternally shifting unit presided over by former Minutemen bassist Mike Watt.
