2022 Charity Country Origin Touch-Rugby Tournament
May 29 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
TOKYO, April 20, 2022—COTT, a collective of rugby and charity enthusiasts who want to make a difference in Japan, will host a one-day country origin touch-rugby tournament in central Tokyo on May 29, to raise money for Mirai no Mori and TELL.
Twenty teams featuring 12 – 20 players of diverse genders, nationalities, backgrounds and rugby-proficiency levels will compete in the event, in a spirit of fun and community. The prize will be the coveted 2022 COTT Cup.
The tournament will raise awareness of, and money for, children’s charity Mirai no Mori and mental health charity TELL. It follows COTT’s successful country origin touch-rugby tournament in 2021.
The May 29 event will be open to the general public, and all are welcome.
Date: Sunday 29th May, 9am–5pm
Venue: Tokyo Gas Rugby Football Club, Omori, Ota Ward
Teams: 20 teams, of 12-20 players each, will take part
COTT’s goals are twofold: to show children and adults the role that rugby can play as a common bond between people and to raise money for charity. COTT works to achieve these goals by holding rugby training sessions, social events and an annual country origin touch-rugby tournament where people from all over the world can come together to compete in the spirit of global family.
