Japan’s first international comedy film festival is back! This unique film festival celebrates films in the comedy genre, which range in style, era and countries of origin. The Japanese have abbreviated the Down Town Taito International Comedy Film Festival to SHITA COME and hope that it will bring together comedy film fans from Japan and all over the world. The event also showcases qualities of downtown Tokyo — Ueno and Asakusa. These two areas are known as the home of cultural-arts, Japanese comedy and old folk culture.
Please note that none of the movies have English subtitles. They are shown in original language, so “Neighbors 2” will be screening in English. See the website for the program and official venues.
