Basic cooking skills “Dashi & Rice” class – an introduction to survival cooking for foreign residents in Japan

Jan 27, 2022 at 7:00pm ~ Jan 27, 2022 at 7:00pm

Mayuko’s Little Kitchen (est. 2015-Shibuya-ku, Tokyo – Japanese Cooking Classes in English) has added a hands-on introductory class to the “Survival Class” series started in 2021 for foreigners living in Japan. Unlike the class for foreign tourists, the concept of the survival series is to help you enjoy the four seasons and ingredients of Japan from a deeper perspective. It fosters the hope that foreign residents will “survive (while having fun)” in the Japanese food market, which is full of unique ingredients such as dried daikon, hijiki, cod roe, and salted fungus koji. Survival classes are designed to be attended once each month, as the menu changes monthly. The new introductory class on “how to make soup stock and how to cook rice” is intended to convey in a single class, the flavor of the entire survival series. The introductory class is held every other month.
