About Black Lives Matter Tokyo

Black Lives Matter Tokyo was created in response to and in support of the protests happening in the US and worldwide – a response to the murder of George Floyd. However, Floyd’s death is just one of many unjust instances black people have suffered at the hands of those sworn to protect them.

Our goal is to spread awareness on these issues, not just as problems faced by Americans but by examining the global scope of them. Furthermore, through our events we would like to show solidarity to those fighting for us back home—we’re listening, we’re with you, and we want the world to know and speak up.
