Chiharu Shiota has made a name for herself by creating beautifully complex art installations, often using intricate webs of wool to cover entire rooms. Her work is said to evoke a place between dream and reality, and her exhibitions have revolved around anxiety, memory and youth. Thrown into the mix is her use of mundane household items, like beds, cricket bats and chairs, which add to the element of childhood nostalgia. Her trademark style will be on display at Shinjuku’s Kenji Taki Gallery for a very limited time.
Closed Mondays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
