The Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum is hosting the first weekend of the Tokyo Grand Tea Ceremony 2016: a large-scale tea ceremony festival open to the general public. You can attend a number of different tea ceremonies including traditional, outdoor, for beginners, for children and ceremonies in English. There will also be special events at the outdoor venues from traditional performers.
You can take part in a tea ceremony with English explanation for 700 yen. It will be held in the farmhouse of the Tenmyo Family, which only seats 20 attendees per ceremony. There are 7 ceremonies on each day. Learn about the manners of tasting matcha tea here.
