The Imabari region of Ehime prefecture is well-known in Japan for its high-quality textile and dyeing industry.
Enter Emmanuelle Moureaux, a French designer who obtained both French and Japanese architecture licenses after she was inspired to move to Japan after encountering the city lights of Ikebukuro.
What better way to showcase the beautiful Imabari towels dyed by highly skilled craftsmen, than a designer specializing in colors and dimensions? An Imabari dyeing committee and Moureaux has teamed up for an exhibition featuring beautifully colored towels with the artist’s theme, “100 Colors”.
The exhibition runs for one weekend at the Spiral Garden, a cultural hub and gallery in Aoyama.
