This exhibit has been traveling the world (probably with some difficulty) from London to Rome and is making its next stop here in Tokyo. 76 different houses in a vast range of styles are featured via photographs, videos, plans, and (most enjoyably) full-scale models that visitors can enter, walk around and perch precariously atop wall-less upper floors. 56 different groups of Japanese architects will come together for this ambitious display.
July 19-October 29, 10am-5pm. Adults ¥1200 / University Students ¥800. Art Museum Special Exhibition Gallery 3-1 Kitanomaru-koen, Chiyoda-ku. Station: Takebashi. www.momat.go.jp/english/am/exhibition/the-japanese-house/#section1-1
