Kota Taniuchi Exhibition: Where the Wind Goes
Jun 24 - Oct 1
In 1971, Kouta Taniuchi made a remarkable entrance into the world of children’s books by becoming the first Japanese recipient of the Bologna International Children’s Book Exhibition Graphic Award at the age of 23. Her third picture book, titled “Summer Morning,” captivated audiences with its simplistic illustrations and poetic narrative, leaving an indelible impression in both Japan and Europe. Taniuchi’s picture books skillfully portrayed light and atmosphere through use of color, blending the realms of reality and imagination.
In this exhibition, Taniuchi’s painting career will be on full display. Alongside his original illustrations from picture books, his magazine cover artwork, tableaus, and other works will be showcased.
