Founded in September 1990 the Watari-Um Museum of Contemporary Art is holding the “Living Tokyo” exhibition to commemorate its 30th anniversary. The exhibition celebrates Tokyo with a collection of artwork produced since the museum’s establishment, that focuses on the lives of the everyday people who frequent the museum and inhabit the city. The exhibition features local and international talents, such as poet Shūji Terayama and street artist JR, with works spanning various mediums and techniques, from photography and oil paintings to poetry and documents.
Opening hours: 11am – 7pm, open until 9pm on Wednesdays
Costs: ¥1,200 for adults, ¥1,000 for students under 25, ¥500 for school students, ¥900 for seniors over 70, ¥1,800 for an adult pair ticket and ¥1,400 for a student pair ticket.
