It’s like the Discovery Channel, with beer. Nerd Nite is a worldwide monthly meetup with presentations, performances, trivia, demos, music, and of course drinking. This is the third event in Tokyo, held at Bar Gari Gari (next to Ikeno-Ue station).
Hear from speakers about a range of different (nerdy) topics. Magician Steve Marshall will talk about “The Psychology of Magic”. The director of The Tragedy of Macbeth, Graig Russell will present “Bard Prattle: Walking Shadows in Shakespeare”. And Daniel Robson, chief editor of gaming and entertainment company IGN Japan, will provoke some thinking with his presentation “Gaming: The Math, The Mystery, The Miracle”.
The presentations will begin at 20:00 after doors open at 19:30. Your ¥1500 ticket also includes on drink.
Keep an eye out for future Nerd Nites. They’re different every time, and not just about science and maths. You could learn stuff from artists, sword-enthusiasts, computer hackers, AI researchers, storytellers, and nuclear scientists.
