The artist Hasegawa Tōhaku, a renowned artist of the Azuchi-Momoyama period – 1573-1603 CE – is most famous for his masterpiece byōbu folding screen ink painting Pine Trees. Considered one of the most valuable, national treasures housed at the Tokyo National Museum (TNM) “Pine Trees: Tōhaku’s Masterpiece in Ink” investigates the seminal work. The unique virtual reality experience at the TNM & TOPPAN Museum Theater and explores the mysterious work and the life of Tohaku.
