It is almost impossible to talk about 2020’s music scene in Japan without Fukuoka-born rock star Shutoku Mukai, the lead-singer of two alternative rock bands, Zazen Boys and Number Girl which made a comeback to the scene last year after 17-year hiatus. Number Girl is also one of the first few bands performing live on YouTube due to the COVID-19 situation. For this year’s Golden Week, these two bands are performing together at Hibiya’s Open Air Concert Hall.
