Tomohito Ushiro has worked at the forefront of digital media as an art director, but is now opening his first solo exhibition ‘Pointed’. ‘Pointed’ features eleven canvas paintings and three sculptures that depict the artist’s desire to expand on his past practice of digital art, and move into materially textured artworks. The show opens on Saturday, December 3 and will run until Saturday, January 21, 2023.

MAKI Gallery was originally established in 2003, and specializes in post-war and contemporary Japanese art. In recent years, they  have held exhibitions by artists of a high calibre, such as Mungo Thomson, Miya Ando, and exonemo, who are based in the United States. They also support and nurture promising emerging artists, both Japanese and international.
