Uno Port Art Films is an annual summer film festival established in 2010 at Uno Port, Okayama, Japan. This year, the show is coming to Tokyo for a one-day only screening in Arakawa-ku, Tokyo.
Centered around the theme of “Life, Art, Film,” we bring soulful, cutting-edge films from unexpected corners of the world. All films will be shown with Japanese and English subtitles, and post-screening talks can be bilingual.
This year’s line-up includes 3 programs: 2 feature documentaries – one on Micronesian islanders working for the US Army, the other is on intersex, transgender, and transvestite communities living and falling in love in Japan – and a short program – drama, experimental, animation and beyond from Taiwan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Canada. Most films are translated and subbed by us.
Come and enjoy good and important films rarely seen in Japan and talk with our audience!
¥1,000 per program or a discounted day pass for ¥2,500.
Casual food and drinks matching with the mood of the event will be prepared by professionals and sold at the venue.
