Virtual Exhibition of La Intimidad in Tokyo
Aug 15 at 8:00 am - Sep 30 at 5:00 pmFree
The Cervantes Institute of Tokio presents a virtual exhibition of the work of Barcelona’s photographer César Ordóñez, titled La Intimidad (The Intimacy) which reveals unexplored aspects of Tokyo.
César Ordóñez is an internationally renowned Barcelona artist and has exhibited in more than 15 countries and three different continents. Since 2007 he develops his projects mainly in Tokyo. His work focused on the human condition, the beauty of existence, and its fragility. Exploring how our thoughts and attitudes influence our environment, and vice versa. With a vital and intimate style, his works move between reality and the metaphor between lived moments and dreamed ones.
The exhibition launches from August 15 to September 30 through the Cervantes Institute Tokyo web platform and explores a more emotional and private side of Japanese society as a reflection of the worship of mutual respect and civility. A work that ten years after its creation takes on a new meaning and connects us with the current moment.
Created 10 years ago, shows 32 works of everyday scenes in urban areas of the city. The photographs, by the way of visual metaphors, illustrate unwritten rules such as consideration for others and invite us to reflect on the constant intrusions that our personal space experiences in the vast majority of societies.
