Yoshinobu Ashihara, the modernist architect, famed for the Sony Building and the Tokyo Metropolitan Threatre is being celebrated in this display of drawings photos and models. It will be a look into 11 of his most career-defining works from the Msuashino Art University’s Yoshinobu Ashihara Architectural Archives collection. Included in the exhibition will be materials from Ashihara’s days at Harvard, timelapse photos and digital data on all 300 of his designs. Not to be undervalued next to his contemporaries Kunio Maekawa and Kenzo Tange, Ashihara has left an indelible mark on Japan’s capital.
