The NHK Symphony Orchestra led by conductor Tadaaki Otaka will be performing under the sun, at Yoyogi Park, to mark the park’s 50th anniversary as well as NHK’s music festival’s 15th anniversary. This event also marks 1000 days until the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and is part of the official Tokyo 2020 program.
The full orchestra will perform Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1, and popular movie soundtracks. The concert itself is free, but there will be a lottery for seats right in front of the orchestra. (Get your admission lottery tickets here by October 2nd; Site only available in Japanese. )
