Tokyo’s Earth Day Market absolutely shines this month with it’s best selection of the year of all organic, all fair-trade items on Sunday, December 15. Swing on down to the Yoyogi Park Elms to hear some great live music, join a wreath-making workshop, sip a little amazake, and peruse a fantastic selection of possible gifts. The usual organic fresh items will be on hand—seasonal fruits and vegetables—along with homemade mochi, this year’s rice, juice, and jam can be found alongside beautiful ceramics from Mashiko, original design bamboo baskets, and organic cotton clothing. (Look for a basket of naturally dyed yarn, too!) Vendors specializing in organic and fair trade items from South America, Asia, and Africa will be also be on hand. Top it all off with a little organic wine, sake, and beer for good measure!
