A CIA super-operative and his elite unit must extract a Jakarta policeman (Indonesian martial arts master Iko Uwais) out of the country along with the earth-threatening secrets he holds. Or something. My initial hopes for a nuanced, savvy geopolitical thriller lasted barely ten minutes, as this fourth and worst collaboration between Peter Berg (Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day) and Mark Wahlberg rapidly veered into an incomprehensible, overheated mashup of machismo violence and killing, punctuated with an explosion or two to keep you awake and edited with a machete. Most of the dialogue is yelled. Skip it twice. (94 min)
