The Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space has undergone a dramatic transformation since noted playwright Hideki Noda became its first artistic director last year. Among the new undertakings is an annual collaboration between emerging Japanese and Thai theater companies. For this year’s installment, the program brings together two troupes that specialize in non-verbal physical theater: Thailand’s B-Floor (above) has a background in contemporary dance and martial arts, while the Japan-based FaiFai company leans more towards avant-garde and “trash & fresh” stylings.
