Trance legends Simon Patterson and John Askew are finally coming to ZEROTOKYO!

Known as a member of VII and OPEN UP, Simon Patterson continues to fascinate audiences with his wide range of DJ styles and endless expression of the possibilities of Trance. He has performed in Japan numerous times and held OPEN UP TOKYO in 2019. He also visited Japan in March this year.’ Smack (Waio remix)’ and “Evoke” were among his biggest hits and he continues to be supported by many top artists.

In addition to his solo projects, he also worked as Dogzilla for a time, and ‘Without You’ shook up the trance scene in the 2000s with just one song. Remixes by VII’s Will Atkinson and Alex Di Stefano (formerly of VII) also sent shockwaves throughout the club world and gained a phenomenal following.

His technical skills underpin a style that is both cutting-edge and dark, driving and vibrant, combining elements of trance, techno, and electronica into a meticulously composed art form.

John Askew’s Japan tour will also be hot news for Trance fans in Japan.

The dance music known as Trance has evolved in a wide variety of forms, including Progressive, Uplifting, Tech, Hard, and Psy. One of the most revered figures in the Tech Trance genre is John Askew, also known as ‘The Boss’, NOTHING BUT ROCKETS and AA MEETING.

Impressed by raves, he abandoned his guitarist self, where he had spent most of his teenage years, and switched to DJ decks for his UK club debut. A few months later, he took up a residency at Code Red, where Discover legends John O’Callaghan, Sean Tyas and Bryan Kearney, among many others, have gone on to represent the scene today as A&R legends. The tracks they produced have long been a peak-time favourite of top DJs, and John Askew pioneered the creation of the Uplifting Trance and Tech Trance genres.

In 2016 he founded the ‘VII’ label, which includes Simon Patterson, Will Atkinson, Greg Downey, Orkidea, Activa, AA MEETING, and NifraI. In the past, Blazer, Freedom Fighters, Astrix, Alex Di Stefano, Sean Tyas, Avalon, and Everlight were on the label. In 2019, the label ‘Deep In Thought ’, which will be launched in 2019. Most recently, they performed VII STAGE at UNKONSCIOUS CROATIA in July, attracting many TRANCE fans.

And this time, they are holding a Japan Tour to celebrate the release of their new album ‘A ROOM FULL OF PROS & CONS’.

They each have a track record of playing as headliners at big festivals and clubs around the world, including UNKONSCIOUS, LUMINOSITY, DREAMSTATE, TRANSMISSION, A State Of Trance, CREAMFIELDS and EDC.
