Metropolis Japan is a part of Japan Partnership Holdings, a multimedia agency providing translation services for over 30 years.

We pride ourselves on having a fast and efficient process for our clients, with high-quality translations that are native and captivating. We assist with translation projects for mediums such as articles, websites, blogs, social media and marketing pamphlets.

Job Description
We are looking to hire professional translators for freelance translator roles to work alongside our editorial and sales team, as well as our clients. Both English-to-Japanese language and Japanese-to-English roles are available.

Your Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely translation of client media.
• Translating all text from Japanese to English and/or vice versa.
• Proofreading final articles ahead of submission.
• Excellent creative writing skills to math the tone and purpose of the material for the client.

Mandatory Requirements: 

• Native or equivalent proficiency in both Japanese and English.
• Proficient with proofreading, editing and copywriting.
• Excellent written communication skills who can connect with Japanese and English-speaking clients.
• A degree in Linguistics/Languages, Communications, Media, or a Humanities-related field (bachelor’s level or higher).
• Proven work as a Translator, Interpreter or comparative job.
• Experience in Legal, IT and Marketing industries for translation work is a plus.

業務内容

• クライアント翻訳業務
• 英語→日本語、または日本語→英語の翻訳
• 原稿の校正
• クライアントの目的やトーンに合わせたクリエイティブな文章作成

応募必須条件

• ネイティブレベルの日本語と英語
• 校正・編集・コピーライティングの経験
• 日本語・英語いずれのクライアントとも円滑にコミュニケーションできる優れた文章力
• 言語学、コミュニケーション、マルチメディア、または文系の学位（学士以上）
• 翻訳者・通訳者、または類似の実務経験
• 法務、IT、マーケティング分野での翻訳経験があれば尚良い
