Keisuke Katsuki “ON-SCREEN”

Mar 05, 2026 at 12:00pm ~ Mar 22, 2026 at 7:00pm

Minnano Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Keisuke Katsuki, marking his first show at the gallery since 2022. The exhibition features over twenty works from his long-running “3600 Colors” pixel painting series, which explores the reconstruction of artificial light through the reproduction of red, green, and blue pixels with paint. By arranging these works in a grid, the gallery space is transformed into an environment that mimics a computer screen materialized in the physical world, inviting viewers to reconsider how digital displays shape our contemporary vision.

Katsuki’s practice is situated in a lineage of artists like J.M.W. Turner and Claude Monet, who also responded to the shifting perceptual conditions of their eras. His works often draw from art history or pervasive online imagery, placing them all on the same plane to foreground the conditions of seeing rather than the content of the images themselves. In addition to his pixel paintings, the exhibition highlights his broader exploration of media, including his “Lux” series using RGB light projections and his recent “Angels” photographic series involving diffusion-model AI
