Hiroshi Taruta’s “Shape of Light” Art Exhibition

Aug 16, 2024 at 10:00am ~ Aug 31, 2024 at 6:30pm

HULS Gallery Tokyo is a contemporary craft gallery introducing the new aesthetic of Japan through art. Come enjoy their upcoming limited-time exhibition of ceramic artist, Hiroshi Taruta, starting on August 16! The artist himself will be present on the first two days of the exhibition’s opening. Entry is free.

Taruta is known for his “linear Hotaru-de” pottery, which embodies a mystical light akin to sunlight streaming through clouds. This technique involves intricate openwork patterns and a crisp seihakuji glaze. He works to feature the beauties of daily life in his art and continuously experiments with new forms of expression.

This exhibition will unveil new pieces of art which follow the theme of the “Shape of Light.” These pieces are designed for both practical use and captivating feature pieces. This exhibition promises to evoke a refreshing coolness amidst the summer sun, so make sure to attend.

Gallery Hours: Monday to Saturday, 10AM – 6:30 PM
