CWAJ (College Women’s Association of Japan) has been supporting women’s higher education in Japan since 1949. For the 64th year, they are a selling contemporary Japanese prints to raise money for scholarships.
Featured are 221 beautiful contemporary prints by 207 prominent Japanese artists whose works showcase a breadth of styles and medium. The theme for this year is “Possibilities” which is both a hope and a promise in light of everything that has happened in the world this past year. These prints are truly inspiring!
Though we thought to return to an in-person show this year, the current situation warranted continued precaution for the health and safety of visitors and volunteers. So our Print Show will once again be exhibited only through our 64th CWAJ Print Show Online Gallery website, and you will have the opportunity to view and purchase your favorite prints from the comfort of your home.
In addition, through the generosity of our artists, there will be two concurrent special exhibitions:
Pandemic Response Print Project
Special sale of 225 prints donated by 47 CWAJ Print Show artists for the CWAJ Pandemic Response Scholarship for Nursing Students.
SHINODA Toko and CWAJ
SHINODA Toko (1913-2021) had shared a deep connection with CWAJ for 55 years since 1966. Six of her stunning prints will be sold by lottery.
For the safety of visitors CWAJ has decided to move the 64th CWAJ Print Show from the hybrid format to online only. Don’t miss this opportunity to view 221 beautiful contemporary Japanese prints by 207 prominent artists and purchase your favorites from the comfort of home!
