Storeman / Delivery Driver (Regular Route Delivery Locations)

IMMEDIATE START
Temporary 3-month assignment.

Job Description
Manage and undertake a range of daily and monthly tasks to ensure the ongoing
smooth and efficient operation of the Harnet Distribution Centre, including for the
timely delivery of customer orders and the processing of associated communications,
documentation, and data.

Delivery of Meat Goods and Associated Orders to Restaurants, Hotels and Food
Service Businesses around Tokyo as required (Daily)
Coordination of Inbound and outbound stock movement / Pick-ups & Deliveries
(Daily)
Picking & Packing Orders (Daily)
Stock Control / Inventory Management / Computer Data Entry (Daily / Monthly)
Coordination with 3 rd Party suppliers & customers (couriers, import companies,
warehouses, restaurants and other food service businesses etc) (Daily / Monthly)
Purchasing of general supplies for Distribution Centre such as alcohol spray,
cardboard boxes and other supplies etc (Ad-hoc)
Maintaining a clean work environment.

  • Delivery operations using company vans in central Tokyo and surrounding areas
    (mainly to restaurants, hotels, and retail stores)
  • Pick-ups of product from Haneda Airport (Customs), and/or related 3 rd Party
    locations, such as partner cold stores and warehouses
  • Warehouse work (receiving / despatching goods, processing & sorting orders,
    inventory control & stock management)
  • Issuing delivery notices / invoices
  • Confirming accuracy of information for processing
  • Basic PC input work
  • General logistics support & help with operations at the Distribution Centre
     Customer interaction as required
     Other tasks as assigned
     If you have experience handling or processing meat items, or a butcher license, this
    will be well regarded and provide additional work interest and opportunity to expand
    tasks

• Please note:

  1. The role involves handling heavy items (up to around 25kg in a single box),
    and frequent loading/unloading of our delivery vans, and associated cool
    rooms, so physical strength is required. Most boxes are less than 20kg, however
    on occasion some boxes may be in the 25-27kg range. Content is meat products.
  2. The role requires driving in and around Tokyo on a daily basis

Qualifications

  • Valid work visa for Japan (sponsorship is not currently available)
  • Valid regular (Japan) driver’s license (truck license not required)
  • Experience driving on Tokyo city roads and highways in Japan
    Language:
  • (Japanese) Strong Daily Conversation / Intermediate Japanese language skills
    required
  • reading delivery instructions & addresses, basic communication amongst
    team and end clients. Emails, texts, data entry systems
  • English is not required, however it is definitely a plus for comfortably working in an
    international environment (the company president is Australian), and many meetings
    are conducted in ENG.
  • Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, simple data entry)
  • No age or education restrictions
  • Physically fit
  • Phone & PC provided for work purposes

Salary & Benefits
• Monthly salary: <Indicative> 250,000 – 280,000 yen (commensurate with experience)
• Full commuting allowance paid
• Overtime paid separately
(it is not envisioned that there will be much OT)(Weekend work is not required)
• Bonuses may be paid depending on company performance
• Salary reviewed once per year (FT Staff)

Working Hours
• Monday – Friday

9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (1-hour break)
• Average overtime: approximately 10-15 hours per month (negotiable)

Selection Process
• Document screening (photo-attached resume required)
• One in-person interview (generally held together with 2-3 potential colleagues)
• No written test, but reading in Japanese may be tested

• PC and company iPhone provided
• Foreigners who can speak strong conversational Japanese are welcome to apply, however
