Décor! – Tokyo American Club Connections’ Charity Sale

Looking to give your home a makeover or a room a revamp this spring? Start your interior-enhancement adventure at Décor, Connections’ annual sale of furnishings, fine art and hand-crafted adornments. This year’s event, which kicks off with a member-exclusive evening of shopping and drinks, features more than 20 vendors.

IROCO Design, purveyor of chic, modern furniture, makes its sale debut, as does contemporary Japanese art dealer The Tolman Collection, Michiko Selection, with its Japanese kitchenware, and woodblock print artist Katsutoshi Yuasa.

Whether you’re planning big changes around the home or you’re looking for small gift ideas, don’t miss this under-one-roof shopping extravaganza.

All net proceeds from the sale will be donated to Connections-supported charities.

For the 2021 fiscal year, Connections donated ¥7 million to the following local charities: A Dream A Day in Tokyo, A Place for You, Animal Refuge Kansai, Aoba Gakuen, Family House. Musubie, Resilience, Salvation Army, Sanyukai, TELL, The Big Issue Japan. All the charities are local, usually have immediate need, and typically don’t have many corporate sponsors.

The charities for fiscal year 2022 have not been finalized for monetary donations, but Connections, through February, has worked with Salvation Army and their Angel Tree program (children in their orphanage selected a Christmas gift and a TAC member selects their “angel” card and purchase the gift for the child), Minato Shokudo, Children’s Canteen and food pantry (Connections helped to bag food for the pantry to be given out to needy community members), Musbie (Connections worked for a day in one of the children’s canteens they support), The Big Issue (Connections did a food and sundries drive), Sanyukai (a food drive), and Animal Refuge Kansai (helped promote a food, toys, and supplies drive). In May, Connections will have a drive for clothing and household items for Salvation Army.
