The Mixed Bathing Hot Springs World Executive Committee (Beppu City, Oita Prefecture) will be holding the art fair “Art Fair Beppu 2024” this year, bringing together up-and-coming artists in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, one of the world’s leading hot spring resorts visited by many tourists from Japan and abroad.
The biggest feature of this event is that artists are always present at the venue, and this year the number of exhibitors has been expanded to 64, showcasing the appeal of a wide range of art, from contemporary art to crafts. Please enjoy the four days of seeing, talking, and meeting artists, along with hot springs and food.
As part of its support for artists’ activities in Beppu, Art Fair Beppu also aims to promote Beppu as a cultural and social venue to the world, as well as to create a new art market.
Art Fair Beppu is a place where artists can demonstrate their creativity and where visitors can encounter new attractions and values. We hope that this will become a “place of beginnings” for all involved.

Nishino Tatzu Bar in AFB2024
Together with artist Nishino Tatsu, we will visit places related to “Nishino Tatsu in Beppu” held in 2017 and his favorite places. The tour ends at a bar in Beppu. While enjoying art cocktails created by Nishino Tatsu, we will view the artworks exhibited in the bar.

Touring with Toru Nakazaki [ALTERNATIVE-STATE] New Release
Artist Toru Nakazaki will guide you through his work in [ALTERNATIVE-STATE #5]. This is a special tour where you can appreciate the works installed in various places in the downtown area of Beppu while listening to a guided tour by the artist himself.
