Barthélémy Toguo Solo Exhibition at Space Un

Space Un, a contemporary art gallery in Tokyo, presents a solo exhibition by acclaimed artist Barthélémy Toguo. The exhibition marks the gallery’s 1st anniversary and will feature new works created during the artist’s residency at Yoshino. The opening event on April 18 will include an Artist Talk with Toguo and Maya Nagatani, followed by a reception.

This solo exhibition will be Toguo’s first in Japan, showcasing his unique fusion of African and global contemporary art. The artist’s new works, produced during his residency, highlight the intersection of cultural narratives and artistic exploration.

About the Artist

Born in Cameroon, Barthélémy Toguo is a globally recognized artist known for his fusion of classic African art and global contemporary expressions. His works have been exhibited internationally, including the Venice Biennale, Centre Pompidou and Mori Art Museum, Tokyo. Toguo is also the founder of Bandjoun Station, a cultural space fostering creative and social exchange.
