Enjoy German Culture at Frühlingsfest in Yokohama
Apr 26, 2024 at 5:00pm ~ May 06, 2024 at 9:00pm
Japan has always had an interesting fascination with German culture. So, it’s no wonder the German Spring Festival in Yokohama attracted 420,000 visitors last year. Unlike the German winter, the variety of beers and food at the festival leaves nothing left to wish for (as fellow Germans tend to say) and lets you start off into the spring season with exciting performances. If you feel like taking something home other than memories, there is also a market selling various German goods. There will be an orchestra, attractions and workshops that can be enjoyed by all generations.
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the friendship city partnership between Tokyo and Berlin. To mark the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, a German concept booth will be set up in part of the venue. On the first day, an opening ceremony will be held, including greetings from the organizers and a band performance.
So if you are a homesick German or just a person who is interested in different kinds of cuisine, the Yokohama Frühlingsfest definitely has you covered.
