「Paper City: Memories of the Tokyo Firebombing」Documentary Film Screening

Feb 28, 2025 at 10:30am ~ Mar 13, 2025 at 6:00pm

In March 1945, the U.S. firebombed Tokyo, killing 100,000 people and destroying a quarter of the city. Now, in a society rapidly forgetting, three elderly survivors fight to leave behind a public record of their experiences before they pass away. Paper City explores what we choose to remember and aim to forget—and what the consequences of those choices are.

Paper City is the feature-length debut of Tokyo-based Australian filmmaker Adrian Francis. For the 80th anniversary of the attack, the film is being re-released at Eigakan Stranger for two weeks only with English subtitles.

Keep up to date with showing times as they will be published closer to the screening dates. Tickets on sale three days before each screening day.
