Yuji Ueda: Solo Exhibition

Yuji Ueda is a descendant of award-winning tea farmers in Shigaraki town in Shiga prefecture and is showcasing his first solo exhibition at Blum and Poe Tokyo. His artwork displays a combination of expressive and technical skills as he utilizes clay obtained from Shigaraki, his hometown, or Iga city, which is one of Japan’s oldest pottery-producing regions. Ueda’s creations appear to deviate from perfect shapes, giving his ceramics a distinct appearance that emphasizes beauty in imperfections.
