YUMEUTSUTSU Art Exhibition
Mar 07, 2025 at 7:00pm ~ Mar 21, 2025 at 7:00pm
Artist Shinichi Kaneko explores the theme of “interconnectedness” by symbolically using the intertwined hands and feet depicted in Shunga (Japanese Ukiyo-e Erotic Art) as visual metaphors. In YumeUtsutsu, the artist investigates moments where dream and reality merge ambiguously, drawing from his own creative experience. The exhibition encourages viewers to reflect on how we perceive the world and how we interpret the relationships that shape it.
The term “YumeUtsutsu” refers to the moment when the boundary between dream and reality becomes blurred, a concept that has been used for centuries. It represents a realm where the tangible and intangible, the conscious and the unconscious, intersect, and it serves as a space to explore the relationship between perception and reality. The artist’s work is inspired by the intertwined hands and feet depicted in Shunga, using them as a metaphor to explore the theme of “interconnection.” This “interconnection” refers to all forms of interaction and relationships that link people, things, and phenomena.
Through the perspective of “YumeUtsutsu,” the artist hopes to inspire a renewed awareness of the hidden “interconnections” within our daily lives.
