Aussie-in-Japan designer Adam Bowden—supported by countryman Nathan Berry—came up with leather bag brand Yukihiro, named after his Japanese grandmother. Bowden, who previously worked with various Australian theater and dance companies, was reportedly struck by how Japanese folks of all stripes tote bags of some kind. His Yukihiro creations are hand-stitched—including the brand’s kanji—from different pieces of leather to create one-of-a-kind items. Check out what’s online, but you can also ask for custom variations if you’re prepared to wait. Look out for new styles coming up such as iPad sleeves and more. Some kinds of leather are only available in small quantities—so act fast to get the one you want.
