Sure to cause a kerfuffle is the second coming of English group The xx. The band packed Fuji Rock’s White Stage and sold out a lone Japan club date in 2010. They return having just debuted fresh tracks off their forthcoming sophomore effort, the still-unnamed follow-up to 2009’s Mercury Prize-winning eponymous debut. In recent interviews The xx, formed by Oliver Sim and Romy Madley-Croft at age 15 in London, promise the much-discussed new album is redolent of club music—the result of their catching up on the teenage partying they missed out on when fame struck early.
