Yokohama Restaurants Are Cooking Up a Storm in Celebration of Y150
By Metropolis
One of the most recognizable storefronts on Chinatown’s main strip, Keichinrou is an upscale eatery that tends to put a hurt on diners’ wallets. But in honor of Yokohama’s 150th festivities, it’s offering a seriously generous plan: each day, 50 guests can enjoy a 12-plate dinner course for half off the usual price of ¥10,000. The meal includes birds-nest soup with crab, a shark fin dish, shrimp with chili sauce, abalone stewed in oyster sauce, Peking duck, and more. Parties of five or more can add an all-you-can-drink option for an extra ¥1,500 per person. If your appetite isn’t so large, Keichinrou’s ten-plate “Extravagant Course” (usually ¥9,500) can be had for only ¥6,500. Parties of eight or more who reserve the course will receive a free bottle of shaoxingjiu Chinese liquor worth ¥8,000.
