The late French ballet great Maurice Béjart had an intimate connection to Japan—his good friend Tadatsugu Sasaki is the director of the Tokyo Ballet. Now, three years after Béjart’s death, his Lausanne-based company arrives for a tribute consisting of ensemble pieces from its just-completed European tour: Bolero, Danses Grecques and Don Giovanni. Muscular Paris Opera Ballet etoile Nicolas Le Riche (right) is the guest dancer for Bolero, which is being staged in Japan for the first time.
