In the wake of the 2007-08 FloorPlay remake, the smash Broadway dance extravaganza returns to its roots in a fifth tour of Japan. Burn the Floor was created by Australian Jason Gilkison, a world champion dancer who has also appeared as a guest choreographer on the hit television series So You Think You Can Dance. Celebrating ballroom dancing—or DanceSport, as it’s known in its competitive form—the show traces the history of 20th-century dance from foxtrot and tango to samba and jive. Burn the Floor is participatory, so come ready to strut your stuff alongside Japan’s ballroom-dance fanatics.
