Seizing on the booming market for manga, anime, J-pop, fashion and anything else that qualifies as “Cool Japan,” the government has for the last few years lumped together a series of autumn events under the title Japan International Contents Festival (“Cofesta” for short). A variety of sessions target entertainment industry professionals, while the Akihabara Entamatsuri attracts otaku by focusing on manga and anime. Film buffs can get their groove on at the Tokyo International Film Festival, and for music hounds there’s the Tokyo Asian Music Market. This year, Japan Fashion Week (pictured) also falls under the Cofesta rubric.
