Local party promoters YAGI have pulled out all the stops for a huge Halloween event at Contact.

Featuring guests Age Factory and the hatch, YAGI’s June event, “GOLDEN YAGI” made a huge impact on the Tokyo music scene and left people wanting more from the YAGI crew. Following that, in September, they teamed up with fellow promoters SPEED to co-host Y5, further cementing their place in the current local party scene. This time around they’ve curated over 20 artists across three stages for a huge halloween event featuring live bands and DJs from Japan’s indie, rock and electronic scenes.

For this curation, YAGI’s core member, JUN INAGAWA creates an otherworldly atmosphere. The world of JUN INAGAWA can be captured through his original draft of「魔法少女マジカルデストロイヤーズ」“Magical Girl Destroyers” being animated for TV, and the solo exhibition MAD MAGICAL ORCHESTRA, and has been recently showing more and more development than ever before. From organizing his own party WANK, to performing at countless underground parties, he’s also well known as a DJ with a strong passion for music. YAGI MAGIC ORCHESTRA is the manifestation of JUN INAGAWA featuring unique artists to pull you out of reality as we know it.

Making their first appearances at Contact are Daoko and ZOMBIE-CHANG, a great addition to the lineup for YAGI MAGICAL ORCHESTRA. Daoko plays around with vivid electronic sounds interlocked with word plays that stir the minds of the listeners. You may already be aware from her works with the likes of Kenshi Yonezu and Yasuyuki Okamura, she has a wide range of fans on a major scale including core electronic music fans in the techno/electronica field. With an appearance at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, a tour of Asia, and a release from UK label Toothpaste Records, ZOMBIE-CHANG has also become hugely active in recent years.

Joining the lineup is the Osaka-born VMO a.k.a Violent Magic Orchestra, the bearer of the post rave scene who seamlessly blends live visuals with Techno/Black Metal/Industrial/Noise. Another indispensable addition is the complex and meticulous musicality of Seiho that takes you out of this reality and into a world of bliss. Rapper JUBEE and his project Rave Racers, bands Waater and Psychoheads who appeared at Y5 co-hosted by SPEED in September will be completing the lineup with a secret guest, a big gift for YAGI fans.
