Accompanying Partitions Exhibition at BUG Art Center

Apr 02, 2025 at 11:00am ~ May 06, 2025 at 7:00pm

Exhibition Highlights

The exhibition title “Accompanying Partitions” combines the ideas of “accompanying,” “partitioning” and “state,” representing the concept of people creating together while maintaining individuality.

Shiori Niki will present video and photographic works documenting life at a care facility where they work. Visitors will have the chance to write down future goals on a wall in the venue. Ayaka Ura will stage a performance involving two performers exchanging ideas on improving the world through body language. Visitors can join the performance, which reflects Ura’s ongoing exploration of audience interaction. Yuya Koyama will showcase a video documenting a self-defense encounter staged with a karate expert. A self-defense workshop will also be held during the exhibition. Asuka Miyata will grow snap peas in the venue, surrounded by a large knitted installation. A harvesting session and knitting workshop will take place toward the end of the exhibition. A shelf and table will display artist diaries and books, giving visitors insight into the creative processes behind the artworks.
