Since the 1980s, Peterson has been a key figure in the club scene, focusing on jazz, but he has also shattered the boundaries of musical genres, connected with many artists, and continues to have a great influence on DJs and artists around the world, as well as on listeners. A well-loved British DJ. He is a taste maker who has been at the forefront of music trends for nearly 40 years, including as a radio presenter, club DJ, artist producer, and festival host/curator. He is in charge of the weekend flagship program at BBC Radio 6 Music, a British broadcaster. Also in 2016, he launched his own online radio platform, Worldwide FM.
He has hosted the Worldwide Awards in London, the Worldwide Festival in Set, France, and in 2019 launched a new festival in the UK, We Out Here.
As a label owner, he also presides over “Brownswood Recordings” to introduce a new generation of artists, discovering new talent one after another and introducing them to the world.
As for his own work, in 2021 he started the project STR4TA with Incognito’s Bluey.
He has released two albums so far. He also published his first book, “Lockdown FM – Broadcasting In A Pandemic”.
