Hiraku Project Vol.15: Onishi Yasuaki “Sakai no Ishi”

Dec 16, 2023 at 9:00am ~ May 19, 2024 at 5:00pm

In an atrium gallery filled with natural light, enjoy Onishi Yasuaki’s captivating exhibition, “Sakai no Ishi”. In previous pieces, Onishi has worked with industrial products such as polysheets and adhesives to create art that visualize “voids” and “boundaries” which we remain unaware of in our daily lives. This new installation piece illustrates such themes through his use of copper foils as the primary medium in the featured sculptural pieces. As a material used in electronic devices in places we cannot see, copper foils go unnoticed yet remain an integral part of our day-to-day lives. Utilizing the open gallery floor plan and the negative space within it as the canvas for his sculptural pieces along with his meaningful choice of medium, Onishi brings you an experience that will allow you to consider space and time.
